Rock the Pistes 2026: the must-attend Alpine music festival in Les Portes du Soleil
Celebrate the “Rock the Pistes” music festival from March 15 to 21, 2026 — a full week of live music set directly on the ski slopes across Les Portes du Soleil.

The Rock the Pistes festival takes place every year in the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski area, spanning the French and Swiss Alps. The event, which attracts tens of thousands of visitors, stands out for its unique concept: open-air concerts performed directly on the ski slopes, between 1,500 and 2,000 metres in altitude.
A one-of-a-kind festival format
Launched in 2011, Rock the Pistes is one of the few European festivals to host live concerts at high altitude, accessible only via ski lifts. Over six days, five live concerts take place on the slopes, each in a different resort across Les Portes du Soleil. Spectators ski to each stage, creating a lively, distinctive atmosphere where mountain sports meet music.
Alongside these main shows, more than thirty après-ski concerts — known as the Off the Pistes — bring extra energy to the villages and resort bars every evening. Together, they make up a full week where music sets the rhythm of the mountains.
2026 programme and access
Each edition features internationally renowned artists from the pop, rock, and electro scenes. Previous lineups have included Chinese Man, Gaëtan Roussel, Selah Sue, and Ofenbach.
For its 2026 edition, the Rock The Pistes festival promises to rock the Portes du Soleil area from March 15 to 21 with an eclectic and explosive lineup. The festival will kick off in Morzine with the cult pop-rock band Superbus, followed by two intense days on the slopes of Châtel hosting Boulevard des Airs, Stéphane, Cachemire, and Wepa Wepa. The festival will end on a high note on the Swiss side, in Morgins, to the rhythm of Trinix's electro beats and the legendary energy of Nèg’ Marrons.

Where to stay during Rock the Pistes?
We recommend booking a rental in Les Gets to be at the centre of the festival. Thanks to its central location within the ski area, the resort is an ideal base for reaching the concerts on the slopes while enjoying an authentic and lively mountain village atmosphere.
Choosing a rental in Morzine also allows you to easily reach the stages via lifts and shuttle connections. You might also consider Avoriaz or Châtel. The festival offers a unique way to experience the entire ski area — skis on your feet, surrounded by a friendly, festive atmosphere.
To make the most of Rock the Pistes, it’s best to plan ahead: check the daily concert schedule, monitor the weather, and organise your routes between the resorts.
